SCOTT WHITTAKER R.I.P

1973-2009

Fernwood Foxes Fc was founded in 2008 by Co-Chairman Scott Whittaker and Graham Pelling. In June 2009, just after the season had finished for the then Under 11's, Scott was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma - a cancer of the tissue around his left hip. Scott had felt pain in his hip since the previous September and an MRI scan revealed he had Synovial Sarcoma, which spread to his back, his lungs and left him confined to a wheelchair. He started Chemotherapy and began to respond well to the treatment, He underwent 5 courses of Chemotherapy in total. In October Scott's condition took a turn for the worse and he was admitted to hospital, with each day that passed Scott's condition worsened and on Monday 2 November 2009, Scott passed away with his family at his bedside.
